WELCOME TO KARUM’S WORLD

HELP KARUM PLANT TREES FOR A GREENER TOMORROW

Dear parents and children,

Karum, the woodman, keeper of the trees, is a wonderful  character who looks after the trees in the forest.  He is running out of the secret potion that  keeps him limber and supple and if he doesn’t find the magic book of verses he will change into a real tree.  Karum is joined in his quest by Billy Boy the goat and an eclectic bunch of characters, a retired sea captain, his nephew and niece, Broom the robot and professor Rikiki, Sulaki the witch and the wizard Boldamor and many more.

The book has no illustrations yet and that is where you come in.  Read Karum’s story and get creative; design a cover or draw an illustration of your favorite chapter or character.  You can send in as many as you like.  Every month we will feature a selection of illustrations that we have received and they will become part of the story.

A few simple rules:

Use a standard nine by eleven inch piece of paper and either mail your drawings to:

Friends of Pittock,
9 Algonquin Rd,
Woodstock, ON, N4T 1R8

or

Email your pictures to karumsworld@friendsofpittock.ca.

All illustrations become the property of Friends of Pittock and will not be returned.

On the bottom right corner print your first name and age -- nothing else.  For privacy reasons and for your own  protection you should never include your full name and address on any drawing you submit.  You may include it on the back so that we may contact you.  We hope to be able to award prizes for some of the outstanding submissions.

Above all, have fun reading Karum’s story.  There are many things all of us can do to help protect and preserve our natural environment.

Join Friends of Pittock and Karum.

Working together we can make a difference.
